Upcycling Spoiled Tea Into High-Contrast Artist Ink

Title:

If you spend any time in the DIY art community, you’ve probably seen people brewing their own natural inks from plants, coffee, and tea. It's a wonderful, sustainable way to connect with your materials. But as an artist, I've noticed a major flaw with most online tea ink recipes: they are just too weak.

When you try to paint with them, they dry incredibly faint, making it nearly impossible to get the deep values and rich contrast needed for a dynamic painting.

Because I love both tea and art, I wasn't ready to give up on the idea. I wanted to create a formula that actually worked for serious studio pieces. In my latest vlog on my channel, TeaCanvas, I took a moldy, undrinkable 318g Pu'er teacake and upcycled it into a beautiful, deeply concentrated, rich artistic ink.
